Achu, also called Yellow Soup, is a traditional dish of the Bamenda Grassfields tribes in Cameroon’s North West Region. Made from pounded cocoyams served with a bright yellow palm oil soup, it is flavored with achu spice mix, limestone (kanwa), and meats or fish. Achu is a ceremonial meal, deeply tied to cultural heritage.
